Liam Payne and Maya Henry are engaged after two years of dating.

On Thursday, the For You singer, 26, and Henry, 20, sparked rumours of an engagement after they were photographed in London, with the model seen wearing a diamond ring.

On Friday, a representative for Payne confirmed the news to People.

The One Direction star and Henry reportedly first started dating in 2018, but did not publicly confirm their relationship until September 2019, when Payne shared a photo of the couple on Instagram.

“Sometimes I don’t recognise this happy guy... sure glad you brought him back though,” Payne captioned the picture of the pair hugging following the release of his song Stack It Up.

In the caption, the singer also thanked Henry for “always keeping the biggest smile on my face through all the stress and making me realise how perfect my life really is”.

The same month, Payne, who shares three-year-old son Bear Grey with ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole, opened up about the relationship during an appearance on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp.

Admitting that he and Henry were “fairly happy at the moment,” the singer said: "I'm just past the point of where I'm bothered or not. It's not worth my happiness; I'd just rather go out and do what I want. I’ve got nothing to hide.”

In October 2019, Henry shared a photo of herself and Payne kissing with the caption: “Kissypoo.”

Payne and Cole ended their relationship in July 2018, with the singer explaining in a statement shared to Twitter at the time that it was a “tough decision” and they “still have so much love for each other as a family”.

On social media, news of Payne and Henry’s engagement has been met with support.

“Liam is engaged and I’m so happy for him. He deserves all the happiness in the world,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while another said: “I’m so incredibly happy for him and Maya! They deserve the absolute world.”

As of now, the pair has not announced their engagement on social media.
