Man sues elite matchmaker after spending $426,000 on six dates

The service is said to have an almost 100% success rate

A man is suing a luxury dating service after he was charged $426,000 (£306,000) for just six dates and still failed to find love.

While some people use online matchmaking sites and others prefer to swipe right, for highly successful individuals, navigating the dating world often means hiring a little help.

With limited time and busy lifestyles, it can be difficult to find "the one" but for elite lonely hearts in Washington, DC, that’s where Taylor Francois-Bodine - a real-life cupid for high-end clientele - comes in.

According to Francois-Bodine’s website, she helps elite professionals, from senators and ambassadors, to industry leaders and CEOs, connect with “high quality men and women.”

She also says that her service operates “an almost 100 per cent success rate” with most clients finding themselves in “wonderfully committed” relationships by the second or third date.

However, for businessman Paul Gleit, that wasn’t the case.

Signing up with the matchmaker in May, Gleit, from Manhattan, New York, says that he agreed to pay $35,000 (£25,000) in instalments for two years worth of dates, reports The New York Post.

But, by the time he’d completed in October, he’d gone on just six dates and found himself shelling out a whopping $426,000 (£306,000).

That’s $71,000 (£51,000) per date, the Manhattan federal court lawsuit says.

Now, out of pocket and unmatched, Gleit is suing Francois-Bodine for a full refund.
