Orlando Pride players Toni Pressley and Marta have announced their engagement.

The couple, who have been dating for several years, shared the news on Instagram on Monday, where they posted several engagement photos.

“Yes,” Pressley, 30, captioned the photos, showing her wearing a diamond engagement ring with her arms wrapped around Marta.

The Brazil star shared the same photos on her own Instagram, as well as an additional one that sees the couple smiling with their eyes closed.

She captioned the photos: “This is another chapter of the story that we are writing together” in both English and Portuguese.

Since sharing the news, the couple have received an outpouring of congratulatory messages  from fans and team members.

“LOVE LOVE LOVE I’M CRYING I’M SO HAPPY,” Ali Riley commented, while Shelina Zadorsky wrote: “Love you tons beauties.”

The couple’s team also shared its support from the official Instagram account, writing: “Congrats to both of you!”

The soccer stars first started playing together in 2017, according to the Orlando Sentinel, which notes that Marta, considered one of the “greatest women’s players of all time,” joined the Pride team that year.

The outlet also notes that the couple has been increasingly public about their relationship since Pressley underwent a double mastectomy in 2019 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

On 19 February 2020, Marta shared a birthday tribute to Pressley on Instagram, where she shared her wish for her future wife to stay healthy.

“Today I just want to thank God for your life and wish that you stay healthy, so that you can enjoy the best, today and always!” she captioned photos of Pressley, including one of the pair posing together.

With their wedding, the couple would become the second married pair on the Pride team, with ESPN noting that teammates Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger married in December 2019.
