Duchess of Sussex turns 38: A look back over the past year

On Sunday 4 August, the Duchess of Sussex celebrates her 38th birthday.

Several members of the royal family who are active on social media have shared messages of celebration dedicated to the duchess, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and the Duke of York.

Prince Harry led the way with a sweet birthday message, thanking his "amazing wife" for "joining him on this adventure" on their joint Instagram account.

Here is how the rest of the royal family wished Meghan a happy birthday on social media:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a photograph on Kensington Palace's Twitter and Instagram accounts which was taken on Christmas Day last year.

In the picture, Prince William and Kate walk towards the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate alongside Meghan and Prince Harry, while Prince Charles walks ahead of them.

"Wishing a very happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex today!" the caption reads.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

Clarence House, the royal residence of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, shared three photographs on Twitter and Instagram in celebration of Meghan's birthday.

One of the images shows the duchess conversing with the Prince of Wales at the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth day service on 11 March, while another shows the royal laughing with Camilla at Prince Charles' 70th birthday festivities in May last year.

"A very Happy Birthday to HRH The Duchess of Sussex," the caption reads.

The Queen and the royal family

The official Twitter and Instagram accounts for Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family posted a picture of Prince Harry and Meghan at the London Stadium on 29 June, where they watched the Boston Red Sox play against the New York Yankees for a Major League Baseball match.

The royal couple's surprise appearance at the baseball game took place just under eight weeks following the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

"Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Sussex. The Duchess was born on this day in 1981," the caption on the social media posts reads.

The Duke of York

Prince Andrew, Duke of York shared a picture on Twitter and Instagram of Prince Harry and Meghan, which was taken during the Trooping the Colour procession in June.

"Wishing Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex a very Happy Birthday!" the caption reads.
