THIS YEAR'S British International Motor Show - theme, the adventure of motoring - covers 11 halls and is half as big again as the last show staged at Birmingham in 1996. Special attractions include the AA-sponsored gathering of 21st Century concept cars; a 3,000-seat arena for the 4x4 adventure zone; and an exhibition of past, present and future transport, presented by Michelin (100 years-old this year).

Dates:

Wednesday, 21 October , trade day, 0900 to 1900;

Thursday 21 October, special preview day, 0900 to 1900, tickets pounds 20;

Friday, 23 October to Sunday, 1 November, public days, 0930 to 1900 (1700 on 1 November), tickets pounds 10;

Special themes:

Classic car: 29 October;

Motor sports: 30,31 October;

Adventure: November 1 (all-in two-plus family ticket pounds 25).
