Citroen has revealed the third addition in its DS line of upmarket sports models at Auto Shanghai, which opens this week in China.
The DS5 is the largest model so far and aimed at the executive buyer, with Citroen describing the vehicle's looks as "radical and assertive."
It will be the first car to feature the French automaker's HYbrid4 diesel hybrid powertrain, a long-awaited technology capable of delivering 200bhp with emission-free power for short distances and total emissions of 99g/km.
Like other DS models, the DS5 looks fairly assertive, with an oversized air intake and elongated headlamps, although at 4.52 meters long it's considerably roomier (Citroen says that the trunk can offer up to 465 liters of storage).
Inside, the model offers a color head-up display and leather seats, along with a central console above the driver's head which the automaker describes as "pilot style."
At the moment, details on pricing and availability are still thin, although reports suggest that the vehicle will hit the roads next year and could be priced at £30,000 (around €34,000).
Auto Shanghai runs April 21-28 in Shanghai, China.
