Murder hunt police seek woman's extradition

Murder squad detectives have made a breakthrough in the hunt for the killer of a woman found in her freezer.

Kadijatu Kamara, 26, was stabbed to death and left in the freezer of her flat in Camberwell for about nine months.

Officers have sent a report to the Crown Prosecution Service requesting the extradition from Sierra Leone of the victim's sister-in-law, Sento Bangura, who shared the Camberwell home.

The hunt is continuing for the dead woman's husband, Ibrahim Bangura, and their son, Abdul, who fled to the Netherlands in April last year. Detective Inspector Christopher Jarratt, heading the inquiry, said: 'It has been a very intricate case but if the woman is extradited she will be charged. The search for her husband and son has been hampered because I am sure somebody is helping them.

Sento Bangura is in custody in Freetown, Sierra Leone, while the CPS decides whether to apply for extradition.

The body was found last December after council officials went with Kadijata's twin sister to repossess the flat.
