Naomi Campbell fronts campaign for Equinox Hotels

Naomi Campbell is the star of a new short film by fashion photographer Nick Knight of SHOWstudio.

It forms part of a campaign for Equinox Hotels, which is an extension of the luxury fitness club company that is frequented by celebrities around the world.

In the futuristic film, the 48-year-old model embarks on a series of dynamic stretches and dance moves while inside a bespoke mirrored box before ultimately metamorphosing into an avatar.

Speaking about her inclusion in the campaign, Campbell explains that it’s an embodiment of her own personal commitment to health and fitness.

“I eat quite healthy,” she says.

“Hydration is really the number one important thing, inside and out.”

She added that incorporating travel and wellness is a very contemporary idea, one that reflects the way the world is moving.

“It’s the future, it’s capturing the young generation. The whole world is into being fit and wanting to take care of themselves. Sticking to your commitment, follow through, consistency, this to me is high performance.”

The supermodel has been vocal about her dedication to health and fitness in the past, telling Shape that she tries to do pilates and yoga every day and eats a balanced diet that includes plenty of fresh fish and vegetables.

“I’ve been a longtime admirer of Equinox and how they have set up their brand as a lifestyle that promotes health, wellness and immense attention to detail," Campbell added.

"This is something I can certainly identify with and was proud to be a part of. Hotels are an obvious extension of this brand."

The first Equinox hotel will open in New York City this summer and will take an all-encompassing approach to travel, health and wellbeing. Amenities will include a spa, two pools and an outdoor terrace.

"Equinox is the market leader and authority on fitness as lifestyle, we are bringing our decades of experience to creating the ultimate high performance luxury lifestyle hotels,” said Christopher Norton, CEO of Equinox Hotels.

“Redefining the concept of luxury, we are uniquely qualified to deliver what this new consumer wants, encompassing world-class service and design with unparalleled fitness offerings.”
