In triplicate: A Chinese farmer with three tongues has had an operation to correct the condition. Xiang Shihua was born with one tongue; the others grew later. The longest was 35.5cm, the others 9cm each.

Fishy story: A Norwegian fakir, Inge Vidar Svingen, sledged about 100 metres down a piste at Kvitfjell on his back, on a bed of 270 six-inch (15-cm) nails.
