Newsbrief: Cyanide woman walks free
A woman who has served almost four years in prison after she was found guilty of murdering a friend with cyanide was freed by an Old Bailey judge yesterday. At Knightsbridge Crown Court in 1991 Tricia O'Mahoney, 42, of Lyndhurst Avenue, Streatham, was convicted of murdering Glyn Cooper, 51, and jailed for life. The court heard that the victim was so drunk that he might have mistaken the poison for sugar. Miss O'Mahoney admitted manslaughter and was given a four-year jail term, which she will not have to serve.
