The Spires, the High Barnet shopping centre, has won the London in Bloom Cleary Trophy - awarded to the capital's most attractive street or shopping centre

for its colourful hanging baskets and flower arrangements. The Hyde Infant School, also in Barnet, took first place in the environmental garden competition.
