Three London-based community groups have each been awarded pounds 500 from Barclays Bank for their contribution to greening the city. Selected from 200 schemes were the Francis Waite wildlife garden in the grounds of the Terry Waite sheltered home for the elderly in Newham, Sunnyside community gardens in Islington, and ACCRA sports, education and leisure centre, Brixton.
