Newsbrief: Surgeons go mobile

Britain's first mobile surgery unit starts this month, helping GPs in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham to carry out minor operations. A surgical team from St Thomas's hospital will be based in a converted van, and will carry out 2,400 operations a year.
