Bubble gum dispenser, Nottingham

Bubble gum was developed in the US at the end of the 19th century and its ingredients have changed little: sugar, corn syrup, softeners, flavourings, latex to make it stretch and, of course, colourings. Ancient Greeks chewed a substance similar to gum taken from the mastic tree and Mayans chewed chicle, found in the sapodilla tree. n
