FRIDAY ISN'T usually the most cerebral evening of the TV week, a fact embraced by Sky Cinema with The Directors (5.30pm), a low-brow celebration of the work of former Police Squad collaborators Jim Abrahams and David Zucker (right). They are responsible for some of the most enjoyably inane comedies of the last 20 years including Airplane, Hot Shots and the three Naked Gun films (right).
Meanwhile, leave your brains in neutral for Super League (7pm Sky Sports 1) as St Helens take on Leeds in an end-of-season play-off.
Odd as it may seem, the county cricket season is still with us. In Cricket (10.30am/1.15pm Sky Sports 3) Leicestershire take on relegation candidates Durham in a fixture that is largely academic as Surrey won the County Championship a couple of weeks ago.
