The word that Prince William and Kate Middleton's nanny is 'banned' from saying to their three children

There is one word that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's nanny is allegedly "banned" from saying to their three children.

According to author Louise Heren, who spent a year at the prestigious Norland School for nannies in Bath, where the Cambridge's nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion, was trained, she must not use the word "kid" when speaking to them.

"The word kid is banned. It's a mark of respect for the children as individuals," Heren told The Mirror, explaining that it's a strict rule at the school.

Heren went on to comment on the couple's parenting techniques.

 "Given what we have seen of Catherine when she is out in public, she's very hands on," she told the publication.

"I imagine her relationship with Maria is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children.

"I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal.

"You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not.

"It would be quite like the average British school children."

Heren's comments come after Kate spoke about her life as a mother with I'm A Celeb star Giovanna Fletcher on her podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby.

When asked if she ever feels guilt as part of being a mother, she replied: "Yes absolutely – and anyone who doesn't as a mother is actually lying.

"Even this morning, coming to the nursery visit here – George and Charlotte were like 'Mummy how could you possibly not be dropping us off as school this morning?'

"It's a constant challenge – you hear it time after time from mums, even mums who aren't necessarily working and aren't pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life."
