The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married at Westminster Abbey, London nine years ago today.

The occasion was memorable for a number of reasons, not least because it took place a decade after the couple first met at the University of St Andrews.

One of the flower girls on the balcony, Prince William's goddaughter Grace Van Cutsem, made headlines when she was pictured covering her ears as the newlywed couple kissed on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Another unforgettable moment came during the wedding ceremony, when Prince William momentarily seemed unable to put his bride's wedding ring on her finger.
