Sarah Ferguson has revealed what she bought her daughter, Princess Beatrice, for her birthday.

The Princess celebrated her 32nd birthday on Saturday, and her mother marked the occasion by buying her a portrait drawn by artist Claire Fletcher.

Sharing a photograph of the drawing on Instagram, Ferguson thanked Fletcher for the artwork, writing: “Thank you Claire Fletcher for your painting for Beatrice on her birthday ... she is a natural angel of kindness and goodness, so this little painting sums it all up. Thank you.”

The picture shows a young girl with a pair of wings on her back comprising multi-coloured flowers.

The girl appears to be standing outside in the drawing and is holding a wand with a star on the end.

Ferguson’s post came after she shared a photograph of her daughter in a garden when she was a child.

“Happy Happy Birthday My Dearest Beatrice,” she wrote before going on to reference the time she was born.

“8.8.88 at 8.18pm was one of the greatest and most proud moments of my life.

“You are unique and simply one of the most special people on this planet. Your ever loving and devoted Mum.”

To mark Beatrice’s birthday, the official Twitter and Instagram accounts for the royal family also shared celebratory posts, featuring a photograph of the royal with her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

It shows Princess Beatrice and the Queen smiling at one another during a Maundy Thursday service at York Minster.

“Wishing Princess Beatrice a very Happy Birthday! Her Royal Highness is The Queen’s 5th grandchild” the message read.
