A woman shared the touching note she received from her half-brother after he learned they weren’t “full” siblings - and it is making people on social media emotional.

Pamela Lara, an 18-year-old from Houston, Texas posted the note she received from her 17-year-old brother Jared Escamilla’s on Twitter - where it has since gone viral.

In addition to the note, Escamilla also left his sister her favourite snacks, including cookies, Coca-cola and ramen.

The heartfelt letter Escamilla wrote to his sister reads: “I just wanted to let you know how much I love you. I don’t care what people say you are always going to be my sister, my full-blooded sister. You are the best thing that happened to me.

“I love you with all my heart, thank you for helping me on my worst and thank you for leading me the right way.

“I will always be there for you, just like you have always been there for me. I love you”

Escamilla signed the letter “With love, your annoying brother.”

Since sharing her brother’s sweet gesture, Lara has received more than 51,000 likes and comments praising the sibling’s relationship.

The post is also encouraging people to share their own stories of their siblings finding out they weren’t full-blood.

“When I found out my oldest brother wasn’t my full brother I said and I quote ‘I thought he was different. But I like him more anyway,'” one person tweeted.

Others have suggested that Lara frame the letter.

“This letter needs to be framed. This is a gorgeous moment that needs to be documented forever!” they wrote.

Despite not being “full” siblings, Lara told the Daily Mail that her brother wrote the letter because he knew she didn’t want to talk about it - so he wrote his feelings instead.

“Instead of breaking us apart, it made us even closer. He even tells me he feels bad for joking around that I was the adopted one in the family because I was different than everyone else.

“But despite all of that, I believe blood does not define family. And I have never seen him any differently.”
