An amplifier to match the PRS

The solid state amps of the 1970s were supposed to make valve amps obsolete.

Yet valve amps are now making a comeback for their warm sound. A good example of this is heard on the riff for `Under the Bridge' by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (also sampled for the All Saints cover version).

One of the best valve amps around is the 15 watt Matchless A. Similar to the PRS, it is put together largely by hand. It comes with suitably retro style bakelite knobs and will set you back a whopping pounds 1,399.
