What are the UK's bank holidays in 2020?

On Monday 25 May, people across the UK are set to enjoy the second bank holiday of the month.

While the extra day off might feel somewhat redundant as we enter the tenth week of lockdown, the slight easing of measures and warm sunshine mean that many will be taking to their local parks for a spot of sunbathing, social distancing picnics and enjoying barbecues in their back gardens.

With UK temperatures expected to rise, the last thing you want to do is to find yourself raiding the freezer for emergency supplies of meats and ice creams for the family.

But, be warned, as supermarket opening hours have changed on a number of occasions since the coronavirus lockdown began with some chains further reducing the times in line with the public holiday.

To ensure your cupboards and fridges are fully stocked, here is a list of the opening times of the UK’s most popular supermarkets:

Tesco

Tesco opening hours are dependent on the type of store you want to visit.

The majority of its stores are opening at 8am and closing at 6pm, however some are expected to open slightly later, until 8pm.

Most smaller Tesco Express stores are still operating their usual hours, opening between 6am and 11pm, but these can vary from store to store.
