HERE WE G-EAU AGAIN

An enterprising Indian company, Himalaya Spring Water, is importing water from the Ganges. Amrit Jal retails at pounds 1 for a litre bottle and is spiritually beneficial as well as thirst quenching. "Just imagine guests visited your house and you offered them a glass of Amrit Jal instead of Coca-Cola, tea or coffee. By this way you will purify their hearts," says a spokesman.

A FRIESIAN FOR YOUR SOFA

Gifted with superhuman patience and inordinate amounts of spare time? Transform your home with designer Kaffe Fassett's new book Glorious Interiors (Ebury Press, pounds 25). Animals, shells, fruit and fish are among his favourite motifs; crabs, turkeys and Friesian cows all feature. Even the humblest greens have interior design potential: the melon and cabbage needlepoint chair (above) is "celebrating fruits and leafy vegetables".

SHADY DEALINGS

If your office heats up like a greenhouse, then the Davanth Company can run a thin layer of coloured liquid between double glazing: effectively putting sunglasses on the entire building. More details: Michael Carr,
