Typical Briton owes £8,400
The typical Briton has racked up more than £8,400 of unsecured debt a survey has revealed.
Men owe significantly more than women on credit cards, loans and overdrafts, at an average of £9,403, compared with women's £7,593, according to Moneysupermarket.com.
The survey was carried out by Opinion Matters this month.
