NatWest advice

National Westminster is sending all its final-year student account-holders a free 32-page magazine with information on on how to prepare financially for life after graduation and the search for work. Extra copies are available from NatWest campus branches.

Anti-theft offer

General Accident is extending the range of discounts it offers private car policyholders who fit anti-theft devices. It offers 10 per cent off for approved alarm / immobilisers and 5 per cent for electronic immobilisers.

High-yield trust

Charges cut

HSBC Unit Trust Management is cutting the front-end charge on its James Capel European Growth Fund to 3 per cent until the end of this month. The usual charge is 5 per cent. More details on 071-955 5050.

Family PEP

Family Assurance, the friendly society, is launching a unit trust PEP, the Family Balanced Trust, with a 2 per cent cut in its normal 5 per cent initial charges for lump sum investors of pounds 4,000 or more.

Valuation refund

TSB is offering customers who take a mortgage through the bank a refund of up to pounds 100 on property valuations. Buyers will have to take out a TSB insurance product to qualify. The offer comes with a free homebuyers' video guide, available by calling 0345 123900.
