News in Brief: House sales fall

The Corporate Estate Agents Property Index shows that house sales in April were down 10 per cent on the same month last year.

Sales were also down 10 per cent on the previous month. New instructions rose 0.5 per cent year-on-year, but fell 11 per cent on March 1994.
