Shareholders in Abbey National and British Telecom (fully and part-paid) can sell their shares next month for a flat fee of pounds 7.50 per stock, under a Share Exchange Scheme run by Fleming Investment Trust Management. The proceeds will have to be reinvested in one of Fleming's 14 investment trusts, which will incur Fleming's usual 1 per cent transaction charge up to a maximum pounds 50.
