The Society of Black Lawyers is running its first series of short courses in a joint project with the Inns of Court School of Law (Bar school). The three-hour evening classes on immigration, child law and advocacy begin next Monday. According to Makbool Javaid, the society's chairman, the courses will provide expertise in areas of law relevant to the ethnic community. "We have not always seen eye to eye with the Bar school, but now we are working with them positively," he says.
