THREE in four people do not know how much of their salary is contributed to their pension, according to a survey by Gallup for Abbey National.

The bank has produced a 'wheel' to help people work out how much they need to pay into a pension scheme in order to produce a certain level of retirement income. It is designed to help the employed and self-employed and estimates contributions for pensions up to pounds 25,000 a year.
