With two games in just four days, Tim Sherwood’s men will be feeling the pinch of the relegation battle more than most. Aston Villa will be without eight first team players for the match against QPR, more absentees than any other side in the league.

It was the away side that ran out on top in the reverse fixture in October. A Charlie Austin double was the difference then and his smart header against West Brom on Saturday should fill him with confidence going into Tuesday’s game.

A big win for Rangers could see them move clear of the bottom three and go above Villa in the table; but both sides will feel they have what it takes to secure all three points.

KICK-OFF: Tuesday, 7:45pm

PAST THREE MEETINGS…

QPR 2 (Austin 17, 69) Aston Villa 0, Premier League, October 2014

Aston Villa 3 (Agbonlahor 45, Weimann 59, Benteke 81) QPR 2 (Jenas 23, Townsend 73), Premier League, March 2013
