Andy Goldsworthy, Alaska, November 1995

Today is the final day of Andy Goldsworthy's exhibition Wood at the Michael Hue-Williams Gallery, in London.

Goldsworthy, one of Britain's best-known artists, works entirely with naturally occurring materials - ice, leaves, thorns, stones, trees, sticks and mud - and has become internationally famous for his creations. Goldsworthy has just opened similar shows in both San Francisco and New York.

This picture and the inscription written and laid out by the artist to go with it (left) comes from his book Wood, published recently by Viking.
