Bag charge puts Irish jobs at risk

HUNDREDS OF jobs could be at risk if Irish supermarket customers are asked to pay up to 10 pence for each plastic carrier bag. The move, being considered in a bid to tackle pollution, was welcomed by Irish green groups yesterday but the plastics industry warned of job losses.
