A Briton holidaying aboard his motor yacht on the Greek island of Corfu was killed yesterday by a group of gunmen who attempted to steal his boat's tender.

The Briton was identified as Heklery Kiff, 57, owner of the Karenyann, which was moored in a harbour on the island. Authorities did not know the man's hometown. According to Corfu Coast Guard chief Triandafillis Papaioannou, Kiff was killed when he exchanged gunfire with four men, believed to be from neighbouring Albania, in a speedboat.
