The Ritz, one of London's best-known hotels, could soon be managed from Hong Kong if talks with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group are successful. Trafalgar House, owner of the Ritz, abandoned plans to sell it last year, after the Jardine Matheson group - which controls the Mandarin chain - took a 25 per cent stake. A deal is likely to be concluded by the end of the week.
