HE AMALGAMATED Engineering and Electrical Union yesterday launched a new pension scheme aimed at workers without access to occupational pensions, saying the "stakeholder" pension, set up in conjunction with Friends Provident, would make a "real difference" to the lives of working people.

The new scheme will have low charges and workers will be able to take their pension with them if they move jobs.
