APPLE Computer has lost its battle to block software produced by competitors Microsoft Corporation and Hewlett- Packard, which it claimed had copied its Macintosh computer graphics. A Californian court has confirmed an earlier decision that the Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard software did not constitute a breach of copyright. Apple said the alleged infringement had cost it more than dollars 5bn in damages.
