THE BLUE-CHIP Xetra DAX ended at 5,297.49 and the floor-traded DAX up 43.20 at 5,249.15, on the back of Wall Street. Low volume led to exaggerated movements in some stocks, dealers said.
The utilities group Veba rose nearly 4 per cent after it released higher- than-expected first-quarter profits, while Siemens gained almost 1 per cent after its chairman told the press that reforms would continue after implementation of the company's 10-point restructuring plan.
