THE Xetra DAX climbed more than 7 per cent, its biggest percentage gain ever, boosted by gains in the dollar, robust Asian bourses and a solid Wall Street. The electronically traded index rose 298.19 points to 4,271.63 after falling below 4,000 on Friday. In floor trading, the DAX rose 6 per cent to 4,225.49.
Daimler-Benz rose 15 per cent, boosted by robust third-quarter earnings at prospective partner Chrysler and reports that its Dasa aerospace division will merge with British Aerospace next year.
