LEADING STOCKS fell, led down by the futures market in what traders here said was a predictable correction after recent large gains.
The Hang Seng Index closed 154.74 points or 1.13 per cent down at 13,479.13. Despite this, the market is still up a total of 695.97 points or 5.44 per cent since its close last Tuesday.
"It needs to consolidate after a sharp rise," said Howard Gorges, a director with South China Securities.
