HONG KONG stocks closed barely changed yesterday, with bargain- hunters supporting the market and thwarting any attempt at a correction. The Hang Seng closed up 9.26 points, or 0.06 per cent, at 16,380.21.
"The profit-taking has been well absorbed. It's still an impressive market. After yesterday's rise I wouldn't have been surprised if it had backed off today," said South China Securities director Howard Gorges.
