THE MARKET ended the week on a subdued note, finishing modestly higher in quiet trading.
The FTSE 100 ended 5.3 up at 6,562.6 after a lacklustre session. A firm opening on Wall Street and recovering bond markets underpinned sentiment but failed to persuade traders to take big positions ahead of the weekend. The undercard was also dull. The FTSE 250 rose just 5.1 to 6,078.3 - enough to record its all-time high for fifth consecutive day. The Small Cap firmed 8.9 to 2722.1.
