Around the World's Markets: New York
THE DOW slipped back after its record-breaking week, weighed down by profit-taking after three days of new closing highs. But the tech-laden Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 both closed at record highs - their fourth of the week
The Dow ended off 23.86 points at 10,173.84. The Nasdaq was up 19.65 points at 2,593.04 and the S&P up 4.37 points at 1,348.35, both helped by Internet action in the stock split at TheGlobe.com and three IPOs.
