INTERNET AND technology shares led Wall Street higher as investors went bargain-hunting after the rout that sent the tech-heavy Nasdaq to its second-worst points drop ever on Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average managed a small gain after spending much of the day in negative territory. It ended up by 8.02 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 10,448.55. The Nasdaq Composite index rose by 64.1 points, or 2.73 per cent, to close at 2,409.71.
