STOCKS were weak after the Federal Reserve said it was leaning toward raising interest rates because of concerns that inflation may accelerate.
The Dow fell 16.52 points to 10,836.95, recovering from a 112-point drop on the announcement; earlier it had risen 77 points. The S&P500 dropped 6.17 points to 1,333.32, and the Nasdaq composite fell 3.49 to 2,558.35. Some of the biggest losers were oil stocks, as crude prices had their biggest fall in six weeks.
