THE US bull market won a reprieve on news that the economy created fewer jobs than expected last month. By midday, the Dow was up 46 points, or 0.43 per cent, at 10,710.
Data showing a lower-than-expected 11,000 increase in May non-farm payrolls appeared to lessen the risk that the Fed will raise interest rates. But analysts said wage pressures and the lowest unemployment level in 29 years could yet trigger a bear market.
