WALL STREET was mixed in late morning as investors cashed in profits from the recent run-up in the technology sector.
By midday the Dow Jones was up 87 points, or 0.79 per cent, at 11,034, but the technology-heavy Nasdaq fell 27 points, or 0.81 per cent, to 3,393. Analysts said Wall Street was reaping some profits from the market's recent big gains. "It's natural for the Nasdaq to start taking some profits," said one market strategist. He called recent gains "mind-boggling".
