A BOND market rally coupled with a surge in financial services issues helped push US stocks sharply higher yesterday and sent the Nasdaq market to its 10th record close in 11 sessions.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 174.02 points, or 1.64 per cent, to 10,769.32 and the Nasdaq composite index gained 23.86 points, or 0.75 per cent, to 3,221.15.
Standard and Poor's 500 index gained 14.60 points, or 1.06 per cent, to 1,396.06.
