WALL STREET stocks were mixed in early afternoon Monday with the technology-laden Nasdaq index pushing further into record territory but other market indicators showing declines. Traders said some investors were taking profits from a strong Friday surge.
The Dow Jones was down two points at 11,283. The Nasdaq index, which closed at a record on Friday, was up 44 points, or 1.25 per cent, at 3,565. So far this year, it is up about 60 per cent.
