US STOCKS slipped yesterday as select technology names continued to draw investors, but profit-taking ultimately prevailed in a market that was mixed for most of the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial average gave up 38.5 points, or 0.35 per cent, to close at 11,068.1, extending a loss of 118.4 points on Tuesday. The Nasdaq composite finished barely lower on the day, off 0.8 points at 3,586.1, after climbing to an all-time high 3,625.5 in the morning.
