STOCKS FELL for the third day in a row as worries about the yen's strength outweighed the positive effects of a record gain on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 closed down 188.87 points - 1.06 per cent - at 17,666.29. "The strong yen is responsible for today's decline. Electronics shares, for example, would have performed much better without it," said one trader.
Most shares in the high-technology and electronics sectors ended the session lower.
