BA invests pounds 5m in travel website

BRITISH AIRWAYS is paying around pounds 5m to acquire a minority stake in the business travel website, Biztravel.com, owned by Rosenbluth Interactive, the online travel agency.

Up to 50 per cent of BA's business is expected to be conducted electronically within four years, while on-line travel sales are forecast to rise to $11bn (pounds 6.9bn) by 2002 from under $1bn two years ago.
